Let’s Play!

A lot has happened in the past 2 weeks. Farzad and Omid pretend that our Census Ads had a lot to do with the 289,465 people who marked Iranican American as the distribution matches our website traffic: California (157,225),  Texas (20,440) and New York (12,095) details are here. For most of us in the northern hemisphere, the Spring weather is making outdoor activities a fantastic time. Are you taking advantage of it, or are you still playing indoor games?

Too busy for games? You’re missing out! Games are fundamental to building real life skills by simulating them. As a kid you may horse around with your dad physically and aside from coordination, you will learn the boundary between ‘play’ and hurting others. In less active games, such as Monopoly, you practice negotiation. Most games have winners and losers which also either reinforces confidence or teaches us how to look at real life defeats more constructively and learn from them. Last but not least, for strengthening your relationships, there is a saying in America that is now supported by research; it says “Couples who Play together, Stay Together”. What are your favorite games? Listen in as Farzad, Omid and guest Dr. Bazi discuss a few old-school Iranian games.
