Iranican Reports: Tirgan 2011, Part I

Just as they did three years ago, the 300+ volunteer group of Iranians in Toronto raised the bar on what it means to showcase and celebrate the Iranian Culture outside of Iran this July 21 – 24, 2011. Among the record braking figures include a $700,000+ budget and the estimated 120,000 visitors.

The festival hosted many prominent artists and guests, such as Dr. Moridi, and Iranian native Canadian member of the parliament, Anousheh Ansari, the first Iranian space tourist, Jian Ghomeshi, Simin Behbahani, Dr. Bastani Parizi, Dr. Estelami, Rana Farhan, Shahrokh Moshkin Ghalam, Sepideh Raeissadat, Shanbehzadeh Ensemble, Kamelia Dara, King Raam, and over 150 others.

Although their music was played at the late-night event, LA Pop musicians and singers were not seen at this festival. This could explain why again the US Iranian satellite media was not present.

This report was produced by an all volunteer Iranian Team, please support us by liking our facebook page

  1. You are all very nice, kind, considerate people to spend your free time to do this for the benefit of Iranian society. Vaghean keyf kardam, especially the people who edited this are very talented. Seeing this kind of stuff, where people use their talents and their hobbies to do something nice for other people and for the benefit of society, not just for making a buck, is so rare now adays and when you see it, it really lifts your spirits. Self sacrificing people who enjoy what they do and do it for the sheer joy of it and for the benefit of society, I like that! Also I don’t know who filmed this or if it was more than one person, but whoever you are, you are a nice, humble, self sacrificing person(s) to take on such a physically demanding job in the middle of a very hot summer. You nice people, all of you, the world needs more people like you! Good Job!
